There are currently a few great programs out there to help First time buyers.
First what is a “first time buyer” Most programs consider you a First time buyer if you have not owned a home in the last three years.
What programs are available?
The two best programs as of mid February are one from Frederick county government. It’s a 5000 dollar grant that you can use towards your down payment or closing cost.
The second is with Countrywide Home loans. They have an additional $3000 credit .
With the combination of , Grant funds, FHA low down payment loan, and closing cost help from the seller. It is possible to purchase a home for very little cash out of pocket.
Each program has its own set of guidelines for eligibility.
